One of the cornerstones of the Turkish economy, the İstanbul
Stock Exchange Building is relocated to this new venue which includes updated
technology coupled with great architectural aesthetics. The building is adjacent
to the campus of the İstanbul Technical University, and is a construction
built on 7,500 m² on a total land area of 88,000 m² and with a closed space
of 27,600 m² . Equipped with the newest technology, the building enabled the
stock exchange to reach one of the highest floor trading volumes in Europe.
The building is made up of seven main compartments; president’s quarters,
brokers’ offices, administrative offices, transaction rooms, a main storage
center, arts gallery, conference halls, cafeterias, restaurant and shopping
units. In the finishing works of the building, the best quality import and
domestic products were used. In order to enhance the functionality of the
building, electro-mechanical application using the most advanced technology
was implemented in the entire building, including the transaction rooms and
brokers’ offices. 7,600 m² granite and 2,500 m² aluminium glass was used to
cover the facade of the main building. With its construction quality and landscaping,
it is considered as one of the landmark buildings of İstanbul. In addition
to the main building construction, recreation facilities including an outdoor
swimming pool, a semi-olympic indoor pool, a cafeteria, aerobics and fitness
halls, a sauna, a squash court with a 2,500 m² construction area was successfully
completed by Yüksel Construction Co., Inc.
